The Langmead family moved to Lightning Ridge in early 2020. Kurt & Bec have always loved sharing their lives and the gospel with people in places that others might miss. They count it a privilege to serve as a family in Lightning Ridge. Together with their local church and wider network of supporters, they prayerfully seek to be “Building Christ’s Church – in the Ridge, on the Rock” – that is, the solid rock of Christ and his word.

Lightning Ridge is an iconic mining town in north-western New South Wales, famous for its rare black opal. 'The Ridge' is situated near the southern border of Queensland, about 740 kilometres south-west of Brisbane. Population estimates range from 1,500 to 7,000 people, depending on the time of the year and who is counting — the population sign shows a question mark! The Ridge is an eclectic town with a diverse mix of cultures. Opal mining and tourism are the main industries that support the economy.

Thank God for the team's safe arrival from NorthLight Anglican (Sydney), one of our BCA partner churches, for the 22nd edition of the annual ‘Welcome Week’ mission to our local town (23-30 Mar).

Give thanks for all the kids who turned up to the first session of our daily afternoon kids (K-6) and youth (high school) clubs.

Please pray for a good turnout and gospel fruit from our evening outreach events — (Women (Tues), Men (Wed), and Youth (Thurs).

Please also pray for our visits to schools, preschools, playgroups, and aged care, the special Gospel Gathering for the whole community on Friday night, and the final invitational church service this coming Sunday.
