Have you ever wondered?

Have you ever wondered about that request towards the end of each month to pray for ICS? Well, read on!

ICS is the Intercontinental Church Society, our sister organisation which is based in the UK. Karen and I recently returned from connecting with ICS. We visited a couple of their ministry locations and were able to spend extended time with my counterpart Richard Bromley and his wife.

ICS have a mission to establish and support gospel ministries in English speaking parts of the world. This is why they were engaged in gospel ministry in rural parts of Australia leading up to the establishment of BCA. From 1919 onwards BCA took responsibility for gospel ministry in rural Australia, but we have remained committed to each other through regular contact and most importantly, through prayer.

Richard and I shared about our respective organisation’s ministries, and it quickly became obvious how many differences there are between us. One example is that while the supporters of ICS are located in the UK, ICS supports English-speaking ministries outside the UK. Conversely, BCA is focused on supporting ministry within the same country in which you, our supporters, live and worship.

Yet it should not have surprised me that even though Richard and I live on different sides of the world and were meeting for the first time, there was so much in common. I was speaking with a brother in Christ who like me feels the burden of sharing the Good News of Jesus with those who so urgently need to hear it.

Over a century of praying for each other, BCA and ICS have each developed its own unique ministries. However, one thing remains constant – the urgency of sharing Jesus no matter where that might be.

Greg with Richard Bromley in the ICS office in Coventry.Meeting the needs of that urgency is only possible because of your financial and prayer support – something that both Richard and I can tell numerous stories about. It is for that reason I thank you for your ongoing support, particularly in regards to our end-of-year appeal. Your support means together we can go the distance across rural Australia sharing Jesus.

Can I also encourage you at the end of each month to pray for ICS because through your prayers they can, as it were, continue to go the distance across English speaking parts of the world with the Gospel of Jesus.
